Foxborough School Committee Continues Bargaining With Educational Assistants
The Foxborough School Committee says it is still negotiating a new contract with the district's educational assistants, the last unresolved piece of this year's round of collective bargaining, even as the town's attention turns to Sunday's Patriots home opener at Gillette Stadium.
SCHOOLS
The School Committee posted a statement on the district website confirming that bargaining with educational assistants remains ongoing, while agreements have already been reached with four other employee groups this cycle: teachers, secretaries, food service staff and extended-day staff. Collective bargaining in the district typically takes place once every three years, the committee noted.
The statement emphasized that the committee is negotiating in good faith and is seeking terms it considers fair to employees, the district and Foxborough taxpayers alike, while stressing appreciation for school staff. A link to ongoing collective bargaining updates was posted alongside the statement for residents following the process.
