School Committee Names Heyer Interim Business Manager
School Committee · Meeting of September 16, 2026
Foxborough educators press School Committee as EA contract fact-finder report nears. FEA Vice President Jennifer Light told the committee educational assistants have gone without a contract since bargaining collapsed in September 2024, with an independent fact finder's report due September 18. Educational assistant Susan Snyder said turnover has left classrooms cycling through uncredentialed substitutes, warning "the revolving door of educational assistance has to end." The committee, voting 4-0 on every item, appointed technology director Aaron Heyer as interim business manager as Karen Sheridan prepares to retire in November, accepted a $7,500 Guardian Caps donation from the Gronk Football Foundation, approved 11 overnight student travel trips, and opened first readings on four revised policies, including a new PROTECT Act policy limiting civil immigration enforcement on school grounds.
