Foxborough School Committee Reviews Three FY27 Budget Proposals Up to $45.3 Million
FOXBOROUGH — December 10, 2025 — Foxborough School Committee hears three FY27 budget proposals ranging from $44.97 million to $45.3 million. Finance Director Karen Sheridan and Superintendent Dr. Amy Bertos presented options at 3.22, 3.68, and 3.98 percent increases over FY26, noting that payroll now consumes 86 percent of the budget and that 66 percent of teachers are at the top salary step. The town administration had signaled at a November financial summit a preference for an increase between 3 and 3.25 percent. Bertos warned that choosing proposal one over proposal two would likely push some elementary class sizes from an average of 18 students to as high as 26 or 27. The committee accepted a $7,000 donation from the Iorio Charitable Foundation for Foxborough High School and will hold a required public hearing and formal budget vote at its January 28 meeting, with annual town meeting set for May 11.
