School Committee · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Foxborough's School Committee heard extensive public comment on educational assistant pay and Taylor Elementary class sizes, then approved a lightly amended routine agenda. Educational Assistant Danielle Barros told the committee "please just don't tell us that you appreciate us," while former EA Jessica Saley said her prorated pay after nearly ten years was $340 a week with no town health insurance. Taylor parent Colleen DePasquale, citing the Tennessee STAR study and a 16.7-student state average, asked for a third second-grade classroom or a paid aide, calling the current 24-to-25-student sections "a math problem." The committee separately voted 5-0 on five sets of minutes, accepted roughly $1.6 million in FY27 grants, approved a boosters-funded football field repainting for the rest of the season, and adopted three policies, AF, BEDH and JKAA, after waiving second readings.
Student Arshia Awal was introduced as the new School Committee Student Representative.
