Nashoba School Committee Delays Vote on Private Sports Academy Approval to April 29
FOXBOROUGH — April 8, 2026 — Nashoba Regional School Committee hears $103 million private sports academy pitch, delays approval vote to April 29. Managing Director Rich Odell and Head of School Andrew Williams presented Masters Academy International — a boarding and day school planned for the former Bose campus targeting 300 students from 28 states and 13 foreign countries — to the committee at its April 8 meeting. Cognita, a London-based education group backed by Switzerland's Jacob family, is the majority investor and has committed $103 million to the renovation; a September 15 ribbon-cutting with the governor is planned. Superintendent Kirk Downing said he would "enthusiastically recommend" the committee vote in favor at the next meeting. Committee members questioned Cognita's record of closing schools in the U.K. and pressed the school on services for students with IEPs and 504 plans. The committee also reviewed school choice enrollment data for 2026-27, debating whether to increase freshman-year seats from four to as many as 10 before a required public hearing on April 29.
