Foxborough Planning Board Advances Bike Path Study, Approves Two Subdivision Bonds

FOXBOROUGH — December 11, 2025 — Foxborough Planning Board reorganizes and hears pitch for Mansfield bike path warrant article. The board elected a new clerk at its December 11 meeting after member Tracy Vasili's departure, and elevated a former alternate, referred to as Tom, to a full voting seat pending a spring election. Resident John Mahoney and Jack Martin of Summer Street asked the board to sponsor a warrant article for annual town meeting to fund a feasibility study — estimated at $50,000 to $75,000 — for a shared-use trail from Foxborough Center to the Mansfield town line, where it would connect with the existing World War II Veterans Trail. Town Planner Katherine reported a Mass Trails grant application was recently denied not on merit but because state agencies had not coordinated, and said the next application deadline falls in early February. The board also set performance bonds of $357,278 for the Maple Crest Farm subdivision on Bodie Lane and $340,914 for Abby Estates off Windsor Drive, released all lots in both subdivisions, and approved a $117,840 bond reduction for the Eisenhower Lane subdivision, leaving a remaining bond of $87,050.
