Planning Board · Meeting of October 8, 2026

Foxborough's Planning Board continued a contentious hearing on a proposed Walmart depot to November 12 after residents packed the room to oppose it. Engineer Bill Lucas of Bowler Engineering told the board the 26,000-square-foot depot at 300 Foxboro Boulevard would generate about 418 daily trips from independent "spark" drivers and five to ten larger delivery trucks, operating seven days a week with 24 to 25 employees. Neighbors including Cynthia Merrigan-Kahn and Tim Wall argued the seven-day logistics use violates the office park's original 9-to-5 limited-industrial intent and that trucks cannot safely navigate a small rotary at Judge Warren Drive and Foxboro Boulevard.

The board also approved a special permit for up to 25 arcade games at a new Flat Top Johnnies venue at Patriot Place, projected to create 45 jobs, and cut the Lawson Farms subdivision bond by $119,119, to $418,312. The Walmart hearing resumes November 12 at 7:05 p.m.
