Planning Board · Meeting of July 23, 2026
Foxborough Planning Board approves downtown mixed-use permit and hears years of frustration over stalled Lawson Farms subdivision. The board unanimously granted a special permit to Sam Labib to redevelop the former Raycraft Press building at 10 Wall Street into an 82-seat full-service restaurant and three three-bedroom apartments, with attorney John Lovely calling the project "walkable" and a natural fit for the Santarella District. Engineer Bill Buckley of Bay Colony Group said 93 parking spaces are available against a required 16.
In an extended discussion under active subdivisions, five Lawson Farms residents described deteriorating roads, failed storm drains, and an event during a recent World Cup match in which 35 to 40 cars parked on the private subdivision road, one driver backed into another car and fled. Buckley, representing developer Ron Bomby, pledged written permission for police to enforce no-parking rules on the private road during stadium events, with curbing work targeted for August. The board agreed to make Lawson Farms a standing agenda item at each twice-monthly meeting.
Town Manager Paige Duncan, watching the broadcast, texted the acting police chief during the meeting about deploying traffic control ahead of a major concert scheduled for the following Wednesday, the most immediate safety concern residents raised.
